Terms

Terms of use

These are the rules for using Synapse OS on the web and in the iPhone, iPad and Mac apps, in plain language. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.

Last updated: November 7, 2026

Who we are

Synapse OS is run by Samuel Rosengarten, an individual in Quebec, Canada. You can reach us at samrosengarten1@gmail.com.

Your account

You need an account to use Synapse. Give a real email address you can read, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

You must be old enough to agree to these terms where you live, and at least 13 years old.

Your content

What you write in Synapse (notes, tasks, meetings, chat and so on) is yours. You give us only the permission we need to store it, show it to you and to the teammates you share it with, and keep the service running.

In a team workspace, the content belongs to the team and is visible to its members, as the privacy page explains.

What you may not do

Do not break the law, attack or overload the service, try to reach other people’s data, share illegal or harmful content, or use Synapse to harass anyone. We may suspend an account that does.

The AI

The assistant runs on your own device. It can be wrong, so check what it tells you before you rely on it. We do not see your questions or its answers.

The service as it is

Synapse is provided as it is, while we are still building it. We work to keep it available and your data safe, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted or lose data, so keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose (you can export a workspace). To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses.

We may change or add features. If we ever charge for something that is free today, we will tell you first and you will not be charged without choosing to.

Ending your use

You can stop at any time and delete your account from the app (More > Delete account) or the website (Account). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. The privacy page explains what is erased.

Law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If we change them in a way that matters, we will say so in the app, and the date above shows the latest version. Using the service after a change means you accept it.

Request beta access

Synapse is in private beta. Tell us who you are and we will email you an invitation when a spot opens.

We only use your email to send your invitation.
